Student Conduct
North Central Texas College is an academic community committed to education, learning, discovery, and service in a caring and safe environment. All students assume obligations to conduct their performance and behavior in ways that are reflective of the College’s mission and values.
All students have rights and responsibilities. The Student Code of Conduct addresses, reduces, and prevents behavior that undermines academic success and detracts from the educational mission of NCTC.
All students shall obey the law, show respect for properly constituted authority and observe correct standards of conduct. Each student is expected to:
1. Demonstrate courtesy, even when others do not;
2. Behave in a responsible manner, always exercising self-discipline;
3. Attend all classes, regularly and on time;
4. Prepare for each class and take appropriate materials and assignments to class;
5. Obey all classroom rules;
6. Respect the rights and privileges of students, faculty, and other College District staff and volunteers;
7. Respect the property of others, including College District property and facilities; and
8. Cooperate with and assist the College District staff in maintaining safety, order and discipline.
The NCTC Student Handbook outlines the entire Student Code of Conduct, student rights and responsibilities, and disciplinary sanctions for violations of the Student Code of Conduct.
Students may report Student Code of Conduct violations at https://www.nctc.edu/cares.
Student Records
Each individual student at NCTC is responsible for seeing that their records are kept accurate and up to date. If, after registration, a student changes their name, address, telephone number, social security number, or any other personally identifiable information, the Admissions/Registrar’s Office should be notified as soon as possible.
Students who receive financial aid should also be sure that their mailing address is up to date in the Office of Financial Aid. North Central Texas College is not responsible for financial aid award checks, grades, or other documents/correspondence not received because of their failure to notify the Registrar of address changes.
