CDEC 2304 - Child Abuse and Neglect



Methods used in the identification of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse and neglect with an emphasis on developing skills for working with children and families. Includes methods of referral to public and private agencies that deal with investigation and treatment.

Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion, students will be able to

  • Describe the history/legislation related to abuse and neglect.
  • Identify signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect.
  • Create supportive systems for victims and their families.
