COMM 2302 - Principles of Journalism
This course examines major issues facing the news media in a democratic society and explores journalism’s role in shaping public perception and affecting policy.
Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of how recent trends in the new media industry shape news reporting on social issues.
- Discuss and critique today’s news disseminated through various media.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the role of the news media in shaping our perception of the world.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the effects of news media on policy-making.
