EMSP 1356 - Patient Assessment and Airway Management



A detailed study of the knowledge and skills required to reach competence in performing patient assessment, airway management, and artificial ventilation.

Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion, students will be able to:

  • Perform a history and comprehensive physical exam on various patient populations.
  • Establish and/or maintain a patient airway.
  • Demonstrate oxygenation and ventilation of a patient.
  • Differentiate respiratory distress, failure and arrest.
  • Interpret results of monitoring devices.
