FIRT 1329 - Building Codes & Construction


Examination of building codes and requirements, construction types and building materials. Includes walls, floorings, and various roof types and the associated dangers of each. This course meets Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) Model Curriculum core requirements.

Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion, students will be able to:

  • Identify model building codes.
  • Compare construction types related to fire behavior.
