BARB 1304 - Introduction to Barber Styling



Basic techniques for hair cutting. Introduction to the related skills of shampooing and treatments, and of trimming beards and mustaches.

Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion, students will be able to:

  • Identify and discuss hair products and their chemistry.
  • Demonstrate shampooing and treatment techniques and identify the basic anatomy of the head, face, and neck.
  • Demonstrate standard shaving techniques.
  • Define haircutting terms and exhibit proficiency in giving a basic haircut
  • Practice safety and sanitation.
