PHTC 1035 - Basic Camera Techniques



A non-darkroom course that explores how to operate and better utilize a conventional or digital camera. Introduction to the proper use of photographic equipment such as flash and tripod to enhance picture taking.

Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion, students will be able to:

  • Explain camera care.
  • Demonstrate camera manipulation and correct camera exposure settings for most lighting and subject situations.
  • Operate a camera’s electronic flash.
  • Demonstrate good composition for communicative images.
