AERM 1251 - Aircraft Turbine Engine Theory
General principles of theory, history, and servicing of turbine engines include lubrication, instrumentation, auxiliary power units, and exhaust systems. Fundamentals of safety procedures are also addressed.
Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion, students will be able to:
- Describe turbine engine operation.
- Identify and select lubricants.
- Inspect, service, troubleshoot, and repair turbine engine ignition systems and components, electrical and pneumatic starting systems, engine lubrication system components and systems, unducted systems and components, and turbine-driven auxiliary power units.
- Inspect and repair engine exhaust system components.
- Inspect, service, troubleshoot, and repair engine thrust reverser systems and related components, electrical and mechanical fluid rate of flow-indicating systems, engine temperature, pressure, and rpm-indicating systems.
