HPRS 2302 - Medical Terminology for Allied Health
A study of medical terminology, word origin, structure, and application with an emphasis on building a professional vocabulary required for employment within the allied healthcare field.
Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion, students will be able to:
- Define, pronounce, and spell medical terms with the use of medical references as resource tools.
- Demonstrate effective communication of medical terms in all levels of health care.
- Utilize medical terms in context of allied health care fields.
- Analyze word origin and structure through the introduction of prefixes, suffixes, root words, plurals, abbreviations, and symbols.
- Apply critical thinking skills when communicating medical terminology of human anatomy ahd physiology, disease disorders, and procedures.
