The following is a recommended sequence of courses for students intending on majoring in a Criminal Justice field at a Texas public university, and maps out how you can earn your Associate of Arts (AA) General Studies degree from NCTC as well. The transfer university is the final authority on determining if all the courses within the NCTC Associate of Arts degree are transferable and applicable for an intended major, so students should always consult with an advisor at the university level regarding approved and required coursework.
Students placing at college preparatory levels will have additional courses to complete before taking eligible college-level courses in this sequence, and some courses may have prerequisites. Please check the course descriptions in the NCTC catalog . This suggested sequence only maps out Fall and Spring semesters however the number of courses taken each semester can be adjusted if classes are also taken during Summer and/or Minimesters. Depending on how many credit hours you have already attempted, all courses on this pathway may not be Financial Aid eligible through NCTC however there are other resources to help with paying for college.
