Associate of Applied Science
The Associate of Applied Science degree in Child Development will help provide education and training for those students who want a career in child development. Through the program, students will have the opportunity to learn the requirements and responsibilities to properly care for children birth to 8 years. Students will also have the opportunity to meet the requirements needed to test for the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
Upon completion of this Associate of Applied Science degree, graduates will be able to:
- Identify the stages of growth and development of children ages 0-8.
- Identify the competency standards covered in the Child Development Associate Credential exam.
- Plan developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Compare developmentally appropriate guidance techniques.
- Apply theory, concepts, and skill in an industry setting.
- Demonstrate professionalism and respectful behavior within the industry.
