Millions of items are produced everyday around the world. Most of these items, like smartphones, automobiles, and even Amazon delivery, is controlled by industrial mechatronics. There is a steady increase in the amount of automation that is involved in daily life. All of these systems need highly skilled technicians to help install, maintain, and repair the equipment.

As a student of Industrial Mechatronics at NCTC, you will gain skills and experience in the installation, setup, troubleshooting, and repair of robots, automation equipment, electrical controls, mechanical components, logistic equipment, motors, and programmable logic controllers (PLC). Additionally, you will have familiarization with additive (3D printers) and subtractive (CNC) manufacturing, programming, and network monitoring.
Students may pursue:

Associate of Applied Science Degree

Upon completion of the Associate of Applied Science Degree, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a knowledge of logistics, quality, and automated equipment in an industrial environment.
  • Demonstrate the application of and the ability to properly use common tools and test equipment.
  • Demonstrate operation of robotic equipment in an automated environment.
  • Demonstrate the skills necessary for maintaining various automated and robotic equipment.
  • Demonstrate basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Install, setup, program, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).

This degree can be completed through a mix of face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes. The program is designed to take two years to complete and consists of the following courses.
