CDEC 2166 - Practicum: Child Care Provider
Practical, general workplace training supported by an individualized learning plan developed by the employer, college, and student.
Students will be expected to meet volunteer requirements of school/childcare center where they are placed for the practicum. This will include, but not limited to, a background check.
Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion, students will be able to - Apply the theory, concepts, and skills involving specialized materials, tools, equipment, procedures, regulations, laws, and interactions within and among political, economic, environmental, social, and legal systems associated with the occupation and the business/industry.
- Demonstrate legal and ethical behavior, safety practices, interpersonal and teamwork skills, and appropriate written and verbal communication skills using the terminology of the occupation and the business/industry.

Restrictions/Notes: This is the capstone course for the Level 1 Certificate. It should be taken as the last class or in combination with classes in the last semester of the certificate. Approval from Child Development department required for registration.
