The NCTC Esthetician Program curriculum is governed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations. The 20-semester hour Esthetician curriculum leads to a Level I Workforce Certificate and helps prepare graduates to take the TDLR Esthetician Examinations. Successful completion of the examinations will allow graduates to practice as a licensed esthetician in the state of Texas.
To enroll in the Esthetician certificate program, student must:
- Be at least 17 years of age by state licensure testing date,
- Apply to NCTC and complete the college orientation,
- Complete required Cosmetology department paperwork,
- Complete financial aid forms if applicable,
- Provide applicable transcripts.
Level I Workforce Certificate
Upon completion of the Level I Workforce Certificate, a student will be able to:
- Demonstrate proper skincare applications.
- Determine the basic physiology of the skin.
- Demonstrate the skills and knowledge required for the successful completion of the state licensing examination.
Fees associated with the Esthetician Certificate are outlined below.

Students admitted to the Esthetics Program are required to buy:
- Navy Blue scrubs. First name must be monogrammed on scrub top with school logo.
- Airpot
Students may enroll in the Fall/Spring, Spring/Summer, or Summer/Fall terms and complete the program in two semesters totaling 20 credit hours. Students must successfully pass courses to progress to the next semester. Fall & spring semesters are 16 weeks. Summer semester is 10 weeks.
