Get Certified & Get Working - FAST!

  • Starting your journey is easier than you think.  As a student, you can immediately earn an EPA 608 Certification - the industry standard - allowing you to handle and dispose of refrigerants safely.
  • North Central Texas College (NCTC) is a TDLR-Recognized Training Center! This means our program meets the highest standards for quality HVAC education.
  • Entry-Level Technicians:  Expect to start earning between $15 - $18 per hour with consistent opportunities for raises.
  • Experienced Technicians:  With 4+ years of experience, you can obtain a Contractor’s License and unlock the door to small business ownership - and significantly higher earnings!  Advanced technicians can command $22 per hour and up.

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in HVAC Technology: Your Path to Success!

Degree Requirements


Total Credit Hours: 60


Capstone Requirement: HART 2380 Cooperative Education - Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology  - is the capstone requirement and may not be substituted. It should be taken the last semester before graduation.

As part of HART 2380  the student will be required to work in a related field and accumulate 240 work hours. Additionally, there is a final comprehensive lab and written exam. Additionally, there will be a final exam and lab that must be completed.
